As a vegan Artist I try to represent the beauty in all animals regardless of how they are valued in our society. I have recently seen a lot of images of dogs wearing lovely flowers crowns. Many of these were to promote the adoption of dogs instead of them being put down in rescue homes which is awesome, however, I found it sad that other animals weren't valued in the same way. I thought about how pigs are described to be as clever as dogs yet they are treated cruelly and are killed with little thought. Therefore I wanted to paint a pig (from a photograph that I took on a farm) in a lovely flower crown to show the value of it's life and represent all the pigs that are brutally slaughtered daily.
