This month is based around the theme of February and Imbolc. Imbolc is a Gaelic festival marking te beginning of spring. Celebrated between January 31st and February 1st it is halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. Imbolc comes from an Irish word that was originally thought to mean "in the belly" so I thought how lovely it would be to paint some badgers emerging from their cosy home to take a peek. Cubs spend approximately the first eight weeks of life underground, emerginf in late April or early May - so these tinies are just taking an early peek!
